Notre Dame ended its bowl drought with a 49-21 victory over Hawaii. Jimmy Clausen threw for 401 yards with 5 touchdown passes which were Notre Dame bowl records. Golden Tate had 177 receiving yards with 3 touchdowns. Notre Dame was determined to win this game. They haven't won a bowl game since 1994, and wanted to win to stop the drought and they did. Hawaii's offense couldn't get anything going in the first half. They had one nice drive in the second quarter that helped them cut the lead to 14-7. After Hawaii had some confidence going Notre Dame came right down the field and scored. Notre Dame took a 28-7 lead at halftime, and u could tell that the game was over. Notre Dame's defense was stopping Hawaii's offense forcing three an outs, and Hawaii couldn't stop Notre Dame's offense. Hawaii's quarterback Greg Alexander struggled to complete passes and was getting pressure on him on most of the plays.
